The Globe Model “INCH” sprinkler and cap have been de- signed to be used in conjunction with the “INCH” installa- tion tool (handheld or with extension). The installation tool allows for ease of sprinkler paint cap (332870 Commercial Paint Cap or 332871 Residential Paint Cap) removal and installation of the sprinkler cover plate.
The installation tool to be used with an extension has been designed to utilize either 3/4” CPVC or 1” CPVC as an extension to the tool. When utilizing 3/4” piping the piping has a friction fit on the outside diameter of the piping and also to the inside diameter of the tool. If 1” CPVC piping is utilized the inside diameter of the piping is utilized to have a friction fit on the outside diameter of the installation tool. This allows for a contractor to remove the paint cap and install the cover plate from the floor level even when the sprinkler is at a much higher elevation.
